HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PET MINERAL?

Did you just get a new interesting soon-to-be-your-best-pal pet mineral? Or you might be interested in taking care of a pet mineral? We'll tell you how to do that!

Choosing your forever friend

1. Pick a mineral. This is a crucial step as every mineral is different and unique! You can find different minerals at the park, the beach, on pump fun etc. Make sure you pick a good one!

2. Determine whether its size is convenient for your purpose. If it's for a traveling companion, pick a small one. If it's for a friend, a larger size is best. But you can adjust to what you want. If you want one that's medium or extra small - pick it! It's up to you. It's your special mineral.

3. Bath your pet mineral. Bathing for your pet minerals always needs patience, as some kinds of minerals like to bath on their own. This is different for every single kind. For bathing, you need at least 1½ (one and a half) room bigger than the mineral itself, as the mineral might not bath inside if it's smaller. You'll need to bath the mineral with water and soap, and bath it slowly. Some minerals may cause a reaction with water so it’s important to know what type of mineral you have and their allergies..

4. Congratulations! Now you are a responsible owner of your best friend pet mineral!

NAMING YOUR MINERAL

1. Give your mineral a name. Before you do anything else, you should name your mineral. You could give your mineral simple names like Minnie, or settle with an exotic name, like cummingtonite or Diamond. Make sure it suits you and your mineral.

  • Be creative and maybe name your mineral a type of berry or a flower. Like for example the name Lemon, it might have little yellow cracks or be yellow. You may call it Blossom, if it is slightly tinted pink or a white color. You can also name it after a character from a movie or tv show.Or you can give it two names and have a cool nickname for your mineral
  • You should also determine your pet's "gender". If you can't decide, think of whatever name you like, boy or girl.

2. Look at your mineral’s appearance. If it's bumpy or smooth, give it a name that suits it. Get to know it's appearance to ensure you've picked the right name.

3. Look to baby name sites for inspiration for a name. For example, you can search "baby names" in Google. It will give you plenty of names to look through.

  • Consider this advice: Make a list of all the names you want, then narrow it down. Remember, you can always give the mineral a middle name and a last name!

FEEDING YOUR MINERAL

1. Feed your pet mineral! It can't eat physical objects, so provide it with food for its other senses, such as sight, touch, smell, and hearing. You can play sweet music, paint or print of a nice image, find something soft, that kind of thing.

  • If you can't print or find anything that smells nice, try to see if your mineral is interested in looking at your food. If you are comfortable with it, your mineral could even smell your food.

2. Make a potpourri for your mineral to smell. This is only if you can. If you're a young child, ask an adult to assist.

  • Add some lemon or orange peels to a handful of cloves. You can also add rose petals, mint, or lavender.

3. Paint or print a pretty picture. Again, you can just let it see what you do for snacks.

4. Play some music. Classical music will do nicely. If you don't like classical music, your mineral can still be comfortable with catchy pop. Despite their name, pet minerals don't normally like mineral music.

5. Make a texture board by gluing pieces of different materials to a piece of cardboard. Rub your pet mineral over these different textures. This is a good idea for if your mineral gets a bit rough.

BathING YOUR MINERAL

1. Prepare a cup of warm water. You'll want a nice wide bowl.

2. Add some liquid soap. Stir it together, and carefully place your mineral inside the mix. But before you do, check the mineral's type. Some minerals may not be able to go in water.

3. Use a sponge or a cloth to scrub your pet mineral inside with the soap-water mixture. If you can't use any of these, use your hands. Scrub for 2-4 minutes. Make sure it rubs all over, under any crevices.

4. Dry your pet mineral with a small cloth. Now, let your pet mineral rest. Bathing is very important when "pet mineraling", and minerals like to contemplate their day after a relaxing bath.
